Occupy Portland

filed under: pdx — Monday, October 24, 2011

I went out on the 6th to document the start of the Occupy PDX protest. The protesters marched from waterfront park to Pioneer Courthouse Square, then settled into camps in two parks. Main Street has been reopened (with minimal police intervention), but the camps remain. Throughout the protest, I’ve been impressed by the reasonable and professional responses from the Mayor and the Portland Police.

Greenfield Photowalk

I made a quick trip to Connecticut to visit family at the beginning of October. I had a chance to meet up with my teacher and friend, Beth Reynolds, for a Kelby Worldwide Photowalk event in Greenfield, MA. It was great to catch up with her and meet other photographers.

Bumbershoot

I spent Labor Day weekend in Seattle to attend the Bumbershoot music festival. The weather cooperated and I enjoyed seeing The Head and the Heart, Väsen, Vusi Mahlasela, The Kills, School of Seven Bells, and the Legendary Oaks among many others. I also had time to go photowalking with friends in Belltown and Ballard.

Timberline Lodge

Recently I visited Timberline Lodge for the scenic chair lift ride on Mt. Hood. The weather was great and it was surreal to hike through snow in August. Here are some of my favorite images from the trip:
